The number appearing within each date indicates available spaces. If it says 0, we have no space available.

Please Note:

• The calendar is updated manually by our Office Steward on a weekly or as-needed basis. Because it is not in "real-time," the calendar sometimes indicates more spaces than are actually available.
• If it says 0, we have no space available. Please choose different dates for your visit; we do not keep a waiting list.
• Please note that some guests will have to share rooms during the last two weeks of December as we wish to accommodate as many guests as possible during the busy holiday season

PLEASE NOTE: Birken Forest Monastery ('Sitavana') is currently closed for the winter. There will be no day visits or personal retreat bookings until April 2012.
Winter Retreat 2012
Please note that Birken will be closed to visitors in January and February while Ajahn Sona is traveling to Asia.  Bookings are now open for this year's Winter Retreat (March 2012 only).  The vacancies available per week are listed below. As usual, the minimum stay is one week; all arrivals and departures must be on Wednesdays. The maximum stay is two weeks, to allow more meditators to have an opportunity to visit. Meditators who have attended winter retreat at Birken before will be given priority for winter retreat bookings, as well as those who have been visiting Birken for at least two years. Regular bookings of Personal Retreats will resume in April 2012.
