Monastery Van

Pick-ups and drop-offs may be arranged for no charge when stewards need to be in town for errands. Normally, trips are made on Wednesday afternoon, with pick-ups and drop-offs between 12:00 and 4:00 pm. These arrangements need to be confirmed with the office steward when you make your booking.

Guests arriving or departing on other days of the week, or requiring transportation in the morning, must make their own arrangements before they arrive at Birken. Please do not expect to use the Birken phone or internet to make or confirm your travel arrangements.

The charge from the Kamloops Greyhound bus station is about $75 one-way (more, from the airport).

Scheduled retreat guests

There will be one pick-up trip by the monastery van on the starting day of the retreat (normally around 3:30-4:00 pm), and one drop-off trip after lunch on the last day of the retreat (normally after 2:00 pm). Times need to be confirmed with the office steward when you confirm your booking about 10 days before the retreat.
