Ajahn Sona’s Weekly Livesteam Q&A Returns
Starting Sunday, January 30, 4:00pm PST

Our next livestream Dhamma Q&A on Ajahn Sona’s YouTube Channel will be this Sunday, January 30, at 4:00pm PST. A link to that upcoming broadcast may be found here. These livestream broadcasts will be weekly on the same day and time for the foreseeable future.

For these livestream Q&As, Ajahn Sona will give priority to questions submitted in the livestream chat that day, yet questions submitted in advance with our Dhamma Q&A Submission Form may also be considered.

    Kitchen Steward Position
    Starting February 2022

In non-Buddhist countries, remote monasteries like Birken depend on the voluntary help of long-term Resident Lay Stewards. Stewards live at the monastery full-time and volunteer their services free of charge. This is an excellent opportunity for practitioners who are looking for a simple life devoted to the Buddha’s teachings, meditation and meritorious acts of service to the Sangha, to dwell in the company of like-minded individuals who are also committed to these ideals.

One new Kitchen Steward position is now open starting February 2022. As the monastery remains closed to all guests, the ideal candidate should have a well established Buddhist meditation practice and be able to commit to a minimum of three months’ of service as a steward.

If you are interested in this very special opportunity to serve the Birken community, please see our Resident Stewardships webpage for more information and to apply.

New Online Interview with Ajahn Sona

Ajahn Sona was interviewed this week by Ajahn Kovilo and Nisabho Bhikkhu for the Clear Mountain Monastery YouTube Channel. Their conversation covered a landscape of Dhamma subjects that you can watch in bite-size pieces.
