The Blessing of Generosity
As from a heap of flowers many a garland is made, even so many good deeds should be done by one born a mortal.
~ Dhammapada 53
The challenges of the past year may seem to be ever-present in many of our lives. Yet the Buddha always points to the beautiful qualities of generosity, loving-kindness, and clarity to overcome the unwholesome.
As 2021 comes to end we’d like to share several ways you can help support Birken and cultivate the warm, wonderful feeling of generosity in your heart and in the world.
Endowment Fund
The
Birken Endowment Fund was established early this year to provide sustaining support to the monastery for decades to come. The fund, which is managed by
Nicola Wealth, will allow us to keep the capital fund secure while using yearly earnings as a reliable source of ongoing funding. We welcome this stabilization to the uncertain, non-profit structures the monastery relies on.
Video Production Fund
Ajahn Sona believes the Dhamma should be presented in the finest means possible, both in content and production. To that end Birken endeavours to create the highest quality video and audio productions possible for
Ajahn Sona’s YouTube Channel. Your donations to this fund will be used for production equipment and services needed most by our production team.
General Giving Fund
Birken’s
General Giving Fund is literally the bread and butter that sustains and supports the monastic and steward communities at the monastery. Your donations to this broader fund provide the groceries, household supplies, gasoline, vehicle and property insurance, office supplies, and all other types of expenses needed for our day-to-day operations.
If you would like to make a one time or monthly donation to Birken, please visit our Support page for more information.
Anumodana! We rejoice in your generosity and great merit.
